People ask me who I’ll vote for this year. When it comes to presidential elections, my answer remains the same: “The same guy I voted for in the last three elections.”
I’ve had a lot on my mind this past month. Not just politics, which in non-election years I think about as often as I think about football. Hardly ever. My enthusiasm for football is zero. I only LIKE/ follow the Seahawks because they were used as an example of pitch-perfect social media in a class I attended.
Other things on my mind include the price of gas. $3.69 a gallon at the Johnston Creek 76. The line of cars went clear down the block so I’ll work with the quarter tank of fumes I’ve got ‘til Friday.
Which brings me to the subject of money.
The no-credit-cash-only thing with hubz is going okay. We’re two months into our transition and nattering at each other less.
His angioplasty last month was another transition. We’re buying healthier food now… and a lot less of it. A win for the budget and our waistlines. He’s even taken to (reluctantly) drinking my choco-seaweed shakes. He’s lost over 15 pounds so far.
On the list of things rattling around in my brain today, I continue to puzzle over my toenails. The color of them. Does neon matte pink make my toes look fat? Just kidding!!! Zoya’s “Lolly” is my first foray into “healthy” polish and I’m on the fence about the gloss-free movement. As vapid as I know I sound right now, I still believe a girl’s gotta keep her dogs looking good in open-toe sandal season.
But back to the matter of politics. So many crises unfolding at once! Europe, the Middle East. My heart aches for the Syrian families torn apart by death and destruction. I can barely fathom presidential choices at a time like this. That said, go Team Ralph. Nader for president. 2012.

Great post. I hope your husband is doing better. I also feel for the Syrian families. There is so much going on in the world.
BTW – I think the pink polish looks great on your toes. I agree, the dogs need to look good in open-toed sandals.
